In a March 24, 2022 article published in The Manila Times, Red Mendoza reported that the government’s Covid-19 Vaccine Expert Panel (VEP) said that it is awaiting data to determine the efficacy of a second booster shot to senior citizens and immunocompromised persons.

According to the report, VEP chairman and microbiologist Dr. Nina Gloriani said in a briefing the efficacy of the third shot, or the first booster dose decreases over time among high-risk individuals but not as much in healthy adults. “We would observe its effect on the immunocompromised and the elderly who could have a weaker immune system; that’s why we are recommending the fourth dose.”

Gloriani added that only four vaccines, Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, AstraZeneca Vaxzevria, and the Janssen, have sufficient data to be considered for use as a second booster dose.

Are these health authorities laser-focused with eradicating covid without investigating the adverse events of these experimental doses on the public’s health?
