The following is an open letter from a group of more than 130 doctors calling themselves as the Covid19 Assembly. The letter was published online last August 22, 2021, and was addressed to UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson, Nicola Sturgeon, Mark Drakeford, and Paul Givan, Health Secretary Sajid Javid, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Chris Whitty, and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Patrick Vallance.

In this letter, doctors slammed the government for failing to engage in dialogue on the alternative strategies of managing the pandemic. The authors said, “You have removed from people fundamental rights and altered the fabric of society with little debate in Parliament. No minister responsible for policy has ever appeared in a proper debate with anyone with opposing views on any mainstream media channel.” The authors also say that the pandemic responses implemented by the government have “caused massive, permanent and unnecessary harm to our nation, and must never be repeated”.

Here are a few of the many issues raised in the letter:

1. The government has made no attempt to measure the harms of lockdown policies.
2. The lack of early, aggressive, and targeted measures to protect institutions where COVID is most disruptive.
3. The government has actively suppressed the discussion of early treatment protocols which were successfully deployed elsewhere.
4. The government has utilized inappropriate and unethical use of behavioral science to generate unwarranted fear.
5. Repeated testing of healthy children who are unlikely to spread the virus.
6. Vaccination of the entire adult population should never have been a prerequisite for ending lockdowns.
7. Over reliance on modeling that does not consider real-world data.

The doctors conclude that the UK approach to COVID has failed and has not helped stop the COVID deaths in the country.

Editor’s Note: This open letter comes from a new set of doctors who were previously silent on the various issues surrounding the government’s COVID policies. It is relevant because it validates the problematic nature of coronavirus restrictions which have been universally adopted in countries despite having no real scientific evidence pointing to their effectiveness [see references below].

As the authors have pointed out, most of the policies that have been implemented have not created a real impact on changing the course of the “pandemic”. Vulnerable people were not protected, and the coronavirus policies utilized by governments have created greater damage to societies. More than a year since our very first letter to our own government, evidence has started to pile up.

The government’s refusal to listen to other experts is political and has nothing to do with a health crisis.
