On November 1, 2021, The Hill featured a segment from the program, Rising where Kim Iversen discussed the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD). According to Iversen, the authors’ predictions were spot on — lockdowns proved to be a disaster with devastating consequences for younger people who often are at little to no risk of severe COVID. Iversen reminds us: “During that time, everyone was still all about the lockdowns. The common wisdom of the day was to stay home, save lives and wait for a vaccine. Schools closed, businesses were shuttered, and people were scrambling to figure out how they would make ends meet. Those who came out against lockdown policies were labeled selfish grandma killers or were told they were in the pockets of Wall Street, only caring about profits.”

But after one year, we are now seeing that The Great Barrington Declaration was right in many aspects. Here are a few of them:

• The declaration warned a post-lockdown world would see worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings, and deteriorating mental health [see New Study: Lockdowns negatively affect mental health of teens; Lockdowns leave half of teenagers battling anxiety and trauma; Over a million cancer deaths could result due to lockdowns].
• The declaration’s authors predicted children will not have access to the regular childhood vaccination schedule^[1].

Editor’s Note: Kim Iversen’s focus on pivotal issues should be a wake-up call to other journalists. No one from the mainstream media (MSM) has handled these issues and pondered the pros and cons of the covid mandates, which, from the beginning was already geared towards failure.

In the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD), the most compassionate approach they promote is Focused Protection, which balances the risks and benefits of reaching natural immunity. It is allowing those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at the highest risk through a more proactive approach. We gambled away our future, only to pivot back to the same things we have been saying since April 2020.]

However, this was not followed widely, except for Sweden which is now showing success in controlling the virus [see Mask-free, lockdown-free Sweden is close to ZERO daily COVID deaths]. Instead of recognizing GBD, governments have done the opposite and have employed a one-size-fits-all strategy to reach the alleged herd immunity. They have instituted broad lockdowns without considering their impacts on the economy, health, and other aspects of society. Now they are implementing indiscriminate vaccination without realizing that these vaccines are experimental and could lead to dangerous side effects.

Looking back, where did these “broad” policies bring us?

Now, despite rising vaccine rates, we are losing our freedoms even more. These did not happen overnight. This all began when we allowed our governments to suspend our rights and put us in a “2-week lockdown” and then, later on, to extend the pandemic restrictions for “another 2 weeks” to “flatten the curve” [Didn’t we tell you that allowing governments the power to suspend civil liberties was dangerous? Totalitarianism is no longer just an idea, it is now flourishing in many countries. If we continue conforming, we will steer our society and the younger generation to a future full of uncertainties. They are on the road to an imminent destiny, they will possess nothing, and worst of all, they are stripped off of their sovereignty.

We are reminded of a meme: ‘I will conform so that this will end. Now we are seeing, it is by conforming that this is not ending.’
