Iceland epidemiologist says herd immunity cannot be achieved by vaccines
The following news article was written by Árni Sæberg and was published last August 8, 2021, by the Icelandic news company, Visir.
In this article, Iceland epidemiologist Þórólfur Guðnason expressed his disappointment that herd immunity has not been achieved by the vaccine even though the majority of the population has been vaccinated. The report says, “The epidemiologist believes that it is now necessary to achieve herd immunity to the coronavirus by letting it spread but to try to prevent serious illness by protecting vulnerable groups. He says the goal at this point cannot be to eradicate the virus from society”.
Guðnason states that the country’s priority now is to give booster shots to those who have responded poorly to vaccination. He adds that there needs to be a balance between achieving herd immunity by letting the virus run its course while at the same time preventing serious illnesses that could cause the hospital system to collapse.
Despite the existence of new variants, Guðnason says that he will not recommend “hard action”, but that they need to get the hospital systems ready and able to accept more people.
Editor’s Note: We have been saying this since April 2020 – no human intervention can prevent COVID from taking its course, and that the best approach is by protecting the vulnerable and ensuring that our hospital systems are ready [see COVID-19 PANDEMIC: THE PHILIPPINE EXPERIENCE The Case for a Precision Quarantine and Immunity (PQI) Approach and The Great Barrington Declaration: Life must return to normal for the healthy, the vulnerable must be protected]. In addition, the focused protection, which has been corroborated by the Great Barrington Declaration, requires giving the vulnerable people appropriate and safe treatments when they need it. Giving the elderly and the immunocompromised more vaccine is not focused on protection, as the intervention has already failed to protect them.
We have heard it repeated many times that getting vaccinated is a “collective responsibility”. With this revelation from Iceland, we can now see that it is not. It is a personal choice which only benefits one side – not the vaccinated (because the vaccinated are also risking their lives due to the toxic nature of these vaccines), but the manufacturers who stand to gain profit from their sales. There is no basis for promoting vaccine passports, which was built on the belief that vaccines will create herd immunity.
Evidence from Israel, Singapore, and now Iceland, are showing that vaccines can increase a person’s susceptibility to COVID-19 infection [See Almost 50% infected with Delta variant in Israel are fully vaccinated, 75% of new COVID cases in Singapore are vaccinated. In fact, there are other indications of this coming from other countries, see Florida counties with highest vaccination coverage (50-61%) now experiencing COVID outbreaks, New COVID surge in 4 out of 5 top vaccinated countries in the world, Internal CDC document urges use of new messaging to promote vaccination in the face of Delta variant outbreaks, World’s most vaccinated nation activates new lockdowns as cases rise].
If we followed the old logic which forced societies to lockdown, we can say that vaccines (and by extension, vaccinated people), present real threats to society. They are protected from illness, but they can get other people they interact with, sick. If the very real side effects of vaccines are not enough to end mass vaccination campaigns, then this mass infection due to vaccines should get governments thinking [see FDA knew COVID vaccines would lead to severe adverse events, sanitized info was given to people to prevent vaccine-hesitancy, EMA finds vaccine link to heart inflammation, Study: Herpes infection possibly linked to COVID vaccine, Salk Institute: The spike protein damages cells and causes vascular disease even without a virus, EMA confirms: AstraZeneca vaccine linked to rare blood clots, FDA adds warning to Johnson and Johnson vaccine for increased risk of rare neurological complication, FDA adds heart inflammation warning to Pfizer, Moderna experimental vaccines].
