In a November 18, 2021 article published in Interaksyon,  Jeline Malasig reported that authorities dispersed those holding an anti-coronavirus rally in Quezon City on Wednesday, November 17, including veteran actor Pen Medina.

According to the report, the Quezon City Task Force Disiplina said that the group, mainly composed of senior citizens, wore no face masks and disregarded minimum public health protocols such as physical distancing.

Also, Malasig said Pen Medina was spotted leading the protest with environmental activist Nicanor Perlas on Wednesday at Quezon City Memorial Circle. Malasig added that Pen recently made online buzz after falsely claiming that face masks were ineffective against COVID-19, despite being the primary protection against virus-laden particles and droplets.

Are people just masking for masking’s sake? Do they not realize that there is a proper time to use masks and that prolonged masking has its own dangers? Do people realize that long before vaccines, several areas around the world have already removed mandatory masking? Perhaps Ms. Malasig thinks that the is a scientific consensus on universal masking, but the reality is that masking has only become prevalent because social media has censored all information against masking [see Twitter removes anti-mask tweet by Scott Atlas; Journals are refusing to publish a mask study from Denmark]. People have definitely gone overboard with implementing “policies” that were actually initially just recommended for conditional use by the WHO [see What does the WHO say about masking?].

Among other issues brought up and argued during the protests, we have proven one thing: Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference of what we did, but we are sure that seeds were planted, and soon enough, wisdom will sprout among those who listened and paid attention.
