In this November 1, 2022 article for The Philippine Star, Pia Lee-Brago reports on the resumption of the operations of the US Peace Corps in the Philippines.

According to the report, the Philippines will receive the “largest batch of American volunteers” in January next year. Their goal is to implement several projects, including the identification and implementation of “strategies that contribute to climate priorities and local government units [LGUs] climate change adaptation plans”.

Editor’s Note: How much of the “climate change adaptation plans” will incorporate strategies that are not imposed by the US? Will these adaptation strategies require the Philippine government to depend on technologies that can only be bought from foreign suppliers?
