All COVID-19 travel restrictions will be removed in the UK; this announcement was published on the official UK Gov website on March 14, 2022. 

According to the news, the UK government will remove the remaining COVID-19 international travel restrictions for all passengers from 4 am Friday, March 18, 2022.

From 4 am on March 18, all COVID-19 travel restrictions will be lifted, including the passenger locator form (PLF) for arrivals into the UK, as well as all tests for passengers who do not qualify as vaccinated. This change, therefore, removes the need for unvaccinated passengers to take a pre-departure test and a day two post-arrival test.

Editor’s Note: This is good news for everyone, especially those who have not traveled to see family and friends across the globe for the past two years because of covid restrictions.

The UK now joins ten other countries with zero entry requirements. The following are the ten countries that previously scrapped all travel restrictions regardless of the vaccination status:

1. As of November 17, 2021, no vaccination or COVID test is required for entry to El Salvador
2. Mexico Removes All COVID-19 Entry Requirements Including Health Form
3. Norway removes all entry requirements for tourists as the country fully returns no normal
4. Slovenia becomes the 4th country to remove all COVID entry requirements
5. Iceland Removes ALL Covid Restrictions and entry rules, returns to normal
6. Bahrain becomes the 6th country to remove all entry requirements
7. Jordan becomes 7th country to remove entry requirements
8. Ireland becomes the 8th country to remove all entry requirements
9. Hungary becomes the 9th country to remove all entry requirements
10. Romania is the 10th country to remove all entry requirements

El Salvador eased its travel restrictions in November 2021 and since then has not reverted to preferential treatment and a two-tiered society. Looking at image 1 below, despite the sporadic covid cases in the country, they have lived with the virus, just like the rest of the world should do.
