In a March 12, 2022 article published in GMA News Online, Jamil Santos reported that the Philippine government had attained 44.49% of its 1.8 million targeted individuals under the fourth wave of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” national vaccination drive (NVD).

According to the report, the Department of Health undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje reported during the Laging Handa public briefing that 836,162 cumulative doses were administered. Cabotaje stated: “We were able to administer over 836,000 cumulative doses, or 44.49% of our target, mainly were second-dose and booster jabs. The coverage for senior citizens is low.”

Also, Cabotaje said: “The complacency is still there; other Filipinos think they no longer need the boosters doses as they already received their second doses and the COVID-19 cases were decreasing… Some senior citizens believe they won’t live much longer, anyway; thus, vaccination is unnecessary.”

Also, those who expired from covid are not because of covid alone but because of underlying conditions. Why does the government so adamant about inoculating senior citizens? In fact, most of them have co-morbidities, and if there are complications after the covid jab, how do doctors determine the causality? Are the underlying conditions the best guise to vaccine fatality and injury? How do the health authorities monitor those vaccinated? Are vaccinated being treated as trial participants, too, since these jabs are experimental? Are these senior citizens given the proper informed consent? Do they know death is one of the potential side effects of these jabs? Do they need to continue pushing with inoculation when other countries have already declared covid jabs failed to protect people from covid? Also, there are considerable risks of side effects more virulent than the disease; why do authorities keep singing covid doses are safe and effective when data shows they are not?
