Dr. Angelique Coetzee: “There is No Reason Why You Can’t Trust Us When We Say to You it’s Mild Disease!”

The following is a 3-minute interview given by Dr. Angelique Coetzee, head of the South African Medical Association and one of the first to identify the Omicron variant, to Leading Britain’s Conversation (LBC). It was posted on LBC’s Twitter page last December 13, 2021.

LBC host Tom Swarbrick begins the interview with the following words: “The problem is we can’t know that they’re going to be mild. We hope, my god, we hope that they will be. And given that vast swathes of our population double jabbed much more so than in South Africa, we hope that’s going to be one of the ways that they are mild. But we don’t know. And so the most cautionary thing to do is to make sure that hospitals are not overwhelmed if it’s not mild. And so we put in these measures. Do you think that’s a reasonable response?”

To which Dr. Coetzee responds: “That’s a reasonable response, but you know after four weeks, this is now our fourth week, there’s no reason why you can’t trust us when we say to you ‘it’s mild disease’ We’re not saying that there will not be sick patients, that’s not what we are saying. We’re saying the majority is mild. There’s no need to do, not to hospitalize any of these cases…In these patients, recovery would be about five days, whether you are a child, whether you are 80 years of age, whether you’ve been vaccinated, whether you’ve not been vaccinated, whether you’ve suffered from mild disease, and have other co-morbidities. This is what we see. This is real life. This is the real experience that we are having.”

She adds, “And if we have seen that there are really severe diseases and cytokine storms, everyone was afraid that that might happen two to three weeks later. Well, in primary health, we passed that three weeks and we haven’t seen it.”

Dr. Coetzee that indeed, Omicron is highly contagious, but its severity is nowhere near Delta. People who get sick due to the variant, she says, will be the minority. Dr. Coetzee also says that their ICUs are currently not full and that only one or two hospitals have lesser beds, but they are generally not in trouble.

Swarbrick asks Dr. Coetzee what restrictions have been implemented in South Africa which could have mitigated the spread of Omicron. Dr. Coetzee says that South Africa remains at level 1. Citizens are required to wear masks when going into venues with large numbers of people, and that a curfew is being implemented in the country.

Editor’s Note: We admire Dr. Coetzee for standing her ground regarding the truth about the Omicron variant. There are only very few scientists like her who are fighting to mitigate panic about a curable and manageable disease.

She has been very consistent with her interviews. In her interviews with various media networks, whether in the UK or India, her message has always been the same: South African hospitals are not overwhelmed with severe Omicron cases and that it is a mild disease.[1]The full version of this interview is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD3Cncrod9I. If you watch the two videos linked above, you will see a similarity in the general demeanor of the interviewers. Most are expecting a different answer, one that commensurates the panic that is created by the discovery of the highly-mutated Omicron. Upon hearing that the variant creates only mild disease which does not require hospitalization, they try to find other ways to explain away the “mildness” of the disease. How that is happening when South Africa is not even highly vaccinated. Is it the masks? Is it the restrictions? They want to keep the panic going, having a milder, highly-mutated strain simply isn’t in the plan.

In the interview with LBC, we see that COVID restrictions in Western countries are stricter than in South Africa. And even if the health care system of the country is less advanced than European countries, they have no fear of hospitals getting overwhelmed due to COVID. In one of the interviews linked above (the NDTV one), Dr. Coetzee said that public hospitals are overwhelmed, but not because of COVID cases, only by accidents and other diseases. She also says though there are now 88% unvaccinated people who are admitted to hospitals, she says that the majority of them were hospitalized for another reason and just tested positive upon hospital admission. She adds that laboratories (at least in South Africa) cannot readily distinguish between Delta and Omicron. [All of these issues are the same ones we have raised in previous variants of the disease, see Mainstream media spinning news about Delta cases to sell vaccines to unvaccinated, Scientist confirms Delta variant more transmissible, but not more deadly, Delta and Other Variants: Fear Appeal for Permanent Lockdowns, Killer Vaccines. Strengthening Natural Immunity the Way Out., Delta not causing increase in COVID hospitalizations].

In the NDTV interview, Dr. Coetzee also says that they are now treating their patients with corticosteroids on the day they are diagnosed with COVID, which further prevents the escalation of the disease. This, once again, is proof that if only governments implemented successful early treatment protocols, then COVID will no longer need to be a disease to be panicked about [see Don’t Fear the Delta Variant, Treat It, Second Part of Principle Trial Confirms the Budesonide effective for Early Stage COVID, No need for vaccines: Clinical trial shows alternative treatment can reduce COVID hospitalization by 90%].

These are the real-world experiences of one of the first countries to report Omicron. All the hype we are seeing about the new variant has been created only by government leaders (think: UK’s Boris Johnson and the Anthony Fauci in the US), with a lot of help from the media. It is a repetition of the scheme they tested out in 2020.

The main difference now is that there are doctors and politicians who are standing up against the insanity. This is how we know that “their” castle of lies is crumbling. “They” are grasping at straws, and are trying to salvage what they can.
