People with colds, headaches, and hayfever flocking to hospitals

In this June 19, 2021 report for Bristol UK, writer Heather Pickstock reports on an emerging issue in hospital emergency departments [also commonly referred to as A&E which stands for Accidents and Emergencies] across Bristol.

According to Pickstock, hospitals are reporting that more people are flocking to A&E departments seeking treatment for colds, headaches, and hayfever. In an interview, Dr. Leilah Dare, Emergency Medicine Consultant at North Bristol Trust said, “Local A&E departments have been extremely busy in recent weeks with record attendances. However, many of these attendances are people coming with minor illnesses which don’t require emergency treatments or care from emergency specialists”. Dr. Dare goes on to say that every minor attendance that comes to A&E means that people with more serious conditions are no longer seen. She urges people with minor illnesses to visit clinics or pharmacies instead.

A lead for A&E department in another hospital, Dr. Lesley Ward said, “We’re urging local people to help us help you by using our health services appropriately and only using A&E departments for life-threatening emergencies.”

Editor’s Note: If you want to know how fearful people are of death, then check how their emergency rooms in hospitals doing. Can we really blame patients who rush to hospitals with COVID-like symptoms when they have been subjected to a year-long, 24/7 propaganda that COVID is a disease they should fear? Can we really blame them when the BBC just made a highly speculative report a few days ago that a symptom of the “deadly” Delta variant is hayfever?1https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52349794 Perhaps now would be a good time for the UK government (all governments, in fact) to be truthful to their citizens. Most people are not at risk when they contract COVID [see IFR CDC updates planning scenarios, shows IFR lower than flu].

On the other hand, the UK is lucky because they have a pretty robust health care system. Can you imagine this happening in a less developed country like India? [Yes, we can. See Untangling the web of lies surrounding India’s latest COVID surge]. This is the reason why early treatment protocols are important.
