Vaccine passports prolong lockdowns

The following article published by the Wall Street Journal last April 6, 2021 was written by Dr. Martin Kuldorff and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, co-authors of the Great Barrington Declaration [see The Great Barrington Declaration: Life must return to normal for the healthy, the vulnerable must be protected].

In this article, Kuldorff and Bhattacharya explains how the bid to implement vaccine passports are nothing more than coercive schemes to get people to take the experimental vaccines. They said, “The idea that everybody needs to be vaccinated is as scientifically baseless as the idea that nobody does. Covid vaccines are essential for older, high risk people and their caretakers…But those who’ve been infected are already immune. The young are at low-risk, and children – for whom no vaccine has been approved anyway – are at far less risk of death than from the flu. If authorities mandate vaccination of those who don’t need it, the public will start questioning vaccines in general.”

If people can avoid it, they should. We think that there are many natural ways to prevent illness, but we think that everyone should have the right to choose whether to take the vaccine or not. All parents should be given the right to choose for their children.

Vaccine passports take away this right to choose. It treats people as homogenous. It is unjust and discriminatory. And we don’t just say that. Already, Israel’s Green Pass has created a medical apartheid, where the vaccinated are given full citizenship privileges, allowing them to partake in social activities, while the unvaccinated must remain isolated at home. If the Israel experience is not enough, then the recent St. Vincent incident may convince you that vaccine passports will only lead to discrimination. Despite the confusion brought about by the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano at St. Vincent in the Carribbean, Prime Minister Ralph Gonzales has prevented unvaccinated people from evacuating through the four empty cruise ships floating nearby.^[2]https://www.businessinsider.com/st-vincent-volcano-cruise-ship-evacuation-only-for-vaccinated-2021-4?op=1 He proudly said, “The chief medical officer would be identifying the persons already vaccinated so that we can get them on the ship”. No country that understands the value of human freedom will force its citizens to accept a medical intervention they don’t need. And there is no need for coercion if the government trust that their citizens will make the right decision factoring in their long-term health and wellbeing.
