ADB Approves Philippines’ 0 Million Loan for “Climate Change” Response

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $500 million loan to support the Philippines in its Climate Change Action Program (CCAP) Subprogram 2, aimed at enhancing the country’s efforts to combat climate change and fulfill its commitments under the Paris Agreement. This policy-based loan, which includes co-financing $278.3 million from Agence Française de Développement, will facilitate key reforms for climate-resilient agriculture, energy, and transport sectors.

Editor’s Note: Although not mentioned in the article, the loan will be used to acquire “high tech” technology aimed at “combating” climate change. As if there is any technology that could stop the course of nature. If anything, the rising hysteria about the climate is just another way of funneling public funds to the pockets of individuals [see Billions in Mismanaged Climate Funds Raise Questions on Accountability and Transparency].

The Philippines’ initiative to become a global hub for climate technology raises significant concerns regarding the reliance on high-tech solutions without adequately addressing their potential unintended consequences. There is a risk of overlooking simpler, low-cost environmental protection strategies that could be more effective and sustainable in the long run. This loan is reminiscent of the flawed World Bank conditional loans that brought hardship to many countries worldwide.
