Philippines Institutes Voluntary Masking In Most Settings

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed Executive Order No. 7, which puts to end mandatory masking in most venues. The report on this was published by ABS-CBN News last October 28, 2022.

Under EO, facemasks are still mandatory in the following settings:

  • Healthcare facilities
  • Medical transport vehicles
  • Public transportation by land, air, and sea

Editor’s Note: We laud Marcos for ending the mask mandates in indoor and outdoor settings as this should have been done a long time ago [There is no scientific basis for masking Study shows 90% of particles can pass through cloth masks making them useless for preventing COVID transmission, Is it time for the Philippines to lift its mask mandate?].

We however think that mandatory masking should be scrapped in all settings, especially since both the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the UK National Health Service (NHS) has also scrapped mask mandates for healthcare facilities. There really is no point in keeping mask mandates, especially since we know that repeated masking is dangerous [see Study: Immunocompromised People Should Avoid Repeated Masking, Study finds carbon dioxide levels rises beyond acceptable safety levels in masked children, Plastics Used in Face Masks Found in Patients’ Lungs, Compulsory masking is an assault on humanity, German Neurologist: Oxygen deprivation due to face masks cause permanent neurological damage, Meta-study shows that masks are dangerous].
