Daniel Shepherd, an Australian man who was injured after being forced to take the COVID booster, has won a landmark claim against the Department for Child Protection. According to Shepherd, his first two jabs already made him feel unwell. His third shot, required by his employer, caused him to develop pericarditis which manifested as severe chest pain.

The Department of Child Protection acknowledged that the injury was due to the COVID shots, but argued that they were protected from liability because the mandate was a legal directive under the South Australia Emergency Management Act.

Judge Mark Calligeros ruled, “I am not satisfied that parliament intended to deny compensation to employees of the state injured by heeding a vaccination mandate designed to protect the health and welfare of citizens”. Calligeros then directed the Department of Child Protection to issue Shepherd weekly income support payments and reimbursement of medical expenses. Read the ruling here.

Editor’s Note: This article is important for various reasons. First, it is now clear that the “emergency authorization” issued by governments for various COVID-19 shots was indeed a legal cover to shield vaccine manufacturers from liability. This is a tell-tale sign that the vaccine manufacturers knew that their products could fail. They knew from the beginning that the shots caused massive damage to recipients because they had to cut numerous safety procedures in its development. We had cautioned people about this in the past, and now we are seeing that we were right once again.

Second, we must realize that even if Shepherd won this case, taxpayers lost. Instead of vaccine manufacturers paying the price for releasing a dangerous “drug” to the world, we are shouldering the cost on their behalf. Consider this: citizens paid for a dangerous product to be forced on them by their governments. Then when the expected injuries were revealed, they had to pay for the consequences of the damages they didn’t create. Talk about double jeopardy. This is what happens when we just follow the government blindly – we are always on the losing end.

Third, this situation drives home the point that the government must not be given the right to mandate anything that is connected with personal health. Even with the weekly payments from the government Shepherd’s quality of life is deeply damaged. He may never have the same vitality he used to have, hence curtailing his capacity to live his life to the fullest. If you were Shepherd, do you really think that the weekly compensation is enough to pay for the damage the COVID-19 shots created?

Fourth, Shepherd is lucky to have been compensated for his injury. There are many like him, who are still unaware that their current health issues are stemming from the COVID shots. Many more have already perished, their families unable to discover the connection between their suffering and the COVID-19 shots. And then there are those who are sure that their ailments are due to the COVID shots, but are unable to receive compensation, and hence, must suffer the consequences of the vaccine mandate for the rest of their lives.

We must not forget that all these vaccine woes stemmed from the overreaction of our governments to a disease that could have been resolved with the tools we had in 2020 [see COVID-19 PANDEMIC: THE PHILIPPINE EXPERIENCE]. It’s been four years since that fateful day in March when our societies began to lock down. Though our societies are mobile again, we continue to contend with the damages of the government’s mandates from four years ago.
