In a Facebook post, Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice announced last June 20, 2022, the ban on the Opposition Platform-For Life (OPPL) and the mandate to transfer its assets, property, and money to the state.
The ban came a month after OPPL leader Viktor Medvedchuk was placed on house arrest for trying to establish friendly relations with Russia.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the party is accused of acting to undermine Ukrainian sovereignty. OPPL, the second largest part following Volodymyr Zelensky’s Servant of the People, is just one of ten other opposition parties banned by the regime since Russia’s attack in February.
