New study from Cleveland Clinic shows vaccine provides no added benefit to those who already had COVID

The following article was written by Megan Redshaw and was published by The Defender on June 9, 2021. In this article, Redshaw reports on the findings of a new study from a Cleveland Clinic which shows that those who had COVID but were not vaccinated appeared to have strong natural immunity.

According to the study, those who were previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 were less likely to be reinfected compared to fully vaccinated individuals who never had the virus [This corroborates an earlier, but larger study, see Study of 10-million person-identifiable PCR-test in Denmark shows young people protected from SARS-CoV-2 reinfection]. Redshaw comments that this is “suggesting [that] the vaccine is of no benefit to people who already had COVID”.

The study involved 52,238 employees, 49659 of which never had the virus, while 2,579 had COVID and recovered. Of the 2,579, 1,359 or 53% remained unvaccinated. Meanwhile, a total of 22,777 or 41% or all employees received the vaccine.

Results of the study showed the cumulative incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection remained almost zero among three groups – those who were previously infected who remained unvaccinated, those previously infected who were vaccinated, and those who were previously uninfected and who were vaccinated. Almost all of the infections during the study period occurred among those who were previously uninfected and remained unvaccinated.

Editor’s Note: This article shows that if you had COVID before, there is no reason for you to get the vaccine [an earlier article on this website shows that taking a COVID vaccine after you have recovered from the disease could be harmful, see Do not take the vaccine if you’ve had COVID]. And even if you are unvaccinated and previously uninfected, you should not worry if you are physically healthy. The data from the CDC says that unless you are frail and elderly, your chances of survival after contracting COVID is greater than 99% [see CDC updates planning scenarios, shows IFR lower than flu].

For the young and healthy, the safer approach is still natural infection [see Scientists Sound Alarm: Vaccines Will Kill Millions, New study: Vaccines are the likely cause of adverse effects and deaths following vaccination].
