Jiangxia is home to more than 970,000 people and is one of the main urban areas of the city. According to local authorities, the move is to “further reduce the flow of people, lower the risk of cross-infection and achieve dynamic zero-Covid in the shortest time possible”.

Editor’s Note: China is keeping up the pretense that zero-COVID works. By doing so, it is keeping lockdowns as a “viable” option for curbing COVID.
