NSA Instructs Employees to Spy on People with “Dignity and Respect”

The National Security Agency (NSA) has released a directive to its employees saying that “all persons should be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their nationality or wherever they might reside”. The report on this was written by Ken Klippenstein and was published by The Intercept last August 25, 2023.

Evan Greer, director of Fight for the Future, a digital rights advocacy group had this to say about this new instruction from the NSA: “Mass surveillance is fundamentally incompatible with basic human rights and democracy”.

Editor’s Note: Is there really a way to spy on people with dignity and respect? Can you imagine how much worse it can get if safeguards against total surveillance are lifted with the introduction of social credit and digital ID systems? Can you trust that your government will not use your data against you?
