Expert Opinion: Youth Gender Transition Pushed Without Evidence

The following features a letter signed by 21 clinicians and researchers contradicting a statement released by the Endocrine Society’s claims about the state of evidence for gender-affirming care for the youth.

According to the letter, there is no evidence that can prove that gender-affirming care improves the well-being of transgender and gender-diverse people. They also assert that “the risks are significant and include sterility, lifelong dependence on medication, and the anguish of regret”.

Editor’s Note: The transgender agenda is slowly creeping into the Philippine society, and sooner or later the conversation about gender-affirming care that targets the youth will reach our shores. We believe that people should be empowered to be who they want to be, but that gender transition should not be pushed on children. Should the government attempt to remove the capacity of parents to make decisions for their under-aged children, then you know we have entered a cultural war.
