In the statement, Bukholm said, “We are now in a new phase where we must look at the coronavirus as one of several respiratory diseases with seasonal variation, says assistant director Geir Bukholm in FHI to VG. This is because the vast majority of those at risk are protected. And although the infection is still circulating, hospital numbers remain low. Thus, the coronavirus will not lead to a heavy burden on the health service. For those vaccinated who may become infected and develop symptoms, the vast majority will have mild cold-like symptoms. The coronavirus thus joins the ranks of other respiratory diseases such as colds and seasonal flu.”

Bukholm adds that governments must now stop focusing on infections, and instead focus on hospitalizations.

Editor’s Note: These words from Bukholm offers us an explanation of what is wrong in the pandemic response of many countries in the world. The obsessive focus on infections, and 100% vaccine coverage is irrational. If vaccines can truly protect people, then governments should offer it only to those who are most at risk. There is no need for mandatory vaccination of all populations, and certainly, there is no reason to implement vaccine passports to access services.

If we continue down this path of irrationality, we can expect that there will be no end to this pandemic as every single new case of a new variant will re-start the hysteria and trigger new lockdowns, new health mandates, the push for vaccination, and the segregation between the vaccinated and unvaccinated.
