PANAWAGAN SA KALAYAAN!
(CALL TO FREEDOM!)
The poem below comes from a group at the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, college in Laguna. Vacx-free LB is an initiative of citizens in the Los Baños area that aims to support and protect citizens from being coerced to take measures that do not honor their sovereign right to life. It is composed of scientists, educators, researchers, agriculturists, doctors, local healers, entrepreneurs, cultural creatives, and parents.
The author of the poem is Ome Bailey, a key researcher for the group. The group will soon launch its initiative against mandatory vaccination at the LGU level.
We, at CCH, are excited that another group has surfaced to challenge the insanity and tyranny that is engulfing the nation. This is the kind of diverse action that we should be seeing all over the country. We are not only stopping vaccine mass murder. We reclaiming our freedoms and our democracy. These local-level actions, reinforced by national action, count a lot!
KALAYAAN!
(FREEDOM!)
Bakit tayo pinaghihiwalay?
Bakit tayo pinag-aaway?
Kumikita ba sila?
Nakakatulog pa kaya sila? Marami na ang nagbuwis buhay
Pati ba naman mga bata
Gustong idamay
Tao ako, tao tayo.
May puso’t isipan
Banal ang pinagmulan
May misyon na tunay
Nagsasalita ng katotohanan
Nagbabahagi sa kapwa
Para sila maliwanagan
Hindi ako takot mamatay
Patuloy akong maninindigan
Para ang sunod na henerasyon
Ay makaranas ng kaginhawahan
May pag-asa ang sangkatauhan
Sa bawat taong nagigising
At gumagawa ng hakbang
Lumabas tayo sa sarili
Nating pagkakakulong
Lalaya ang bayan
Kapag naramdaman na natin
Ang kalayaan sa ating kalooban
FREEDOM
Why are we being divided?
Why is there hostility?
Are they gaining from this?
Could they still sleep?
Many succumbed to untimely deaths
Why do they have to go after the kids?
You, me, we are humans
From the Sovereign One
We have a real purpose
To speak with verity
To share with the unaware and unawakened
For them to be enlightened
I’m not afraid to die
I will endure to stand up
For the future generation
To experience liberation
There is hope for humanity
For every awakened one
Taking action one step at a time
Let’s liberate ourselves
From the useless captivity
Our country will be freed
Once we feel the freedom
Inside all of us
