Climate Alarmism: A Path to Extreme Policies and Societal Division?

The youth-led Sunrise Movement celebrated reports that the Biden administration is considering declaring a national climate emergency, which could enhance federal powers to address the climate crisis. While some White House advisers doubt that a climate emergency declaration would significantly increase Biden’s authority, others believe it could energize climate-conscious voters ahead of the upcoming election. Activists from Sunrise and the Center for Popular Democracy urged Biden to heed the calls for urgent climate policy, especially as they face competition from former President Donald Trump’s fossil fuel-centric platform.
