Columbia University Study finds VAERS deaths undercounted by a factor of 20

Columbia University Study finds VAERS deaths undercounted by a factor of 20

Using the data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), researchers from Columbia University tried to find out just how many people are experiencing adverse events or are dying after receiving COVID vaccines. The story on this has been written by Olivia Cavallaro and published by Christianity Daily last December 16, 2021.

The pre-print study was conducted by Dr. Spiro P. Pantazatos, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurobiology (Psychiatry) at Columbia University, and co-authored by Herve Seligmann [Seligmann has also been featured in the articles Expert evaluation on adverse effects of the Pfizer-COVID-19 vaccination and Expert analysis of vaccination in Israel shows more people died from vaccine than from COVID-19 itself].

The researchers say: “Vaccination correlated negatively with mortality 6-20 weeks post-injection, while vaccination predicted all-cause mortality 0-5 weeks post-injection in almost all age groups and with an age-related temporal pattern consistent with the US vaccine rollout.” They also found a US national average vaccine-induced fatality rate or VFR of 0.04%, with the VFR increasing with age.

Dr. Pantazatos and Seligmann also pointed out that their VFR estimates were higher than the CDC’s reported VFR of 0.002%, which suggests that VAERS deaths are underreported by a factor of 20.

With the results of their study, the authors conclude that “the risk of COVID vaccines and boosters outweigh the benefits in children, young adults and older adults with low occupational risk or previous coronavirus exposure”.

Editor’s Note: As of February 4, 2022, deaths following COVID vaccination reported to VAERS have reached 23,615. If we consider the underreporting factor of 20, that would bring up the number of deaths following COVID vaccination to 472,300 – that’s almost half a million people.

If the same underreporting factor would be applied in the Philippines, then as of December 2021, there would already be 33,180 deaths following vaccination.1As of December 26, 2021, there are 1,659 fatal events received by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration. See https://www.fda.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Reports-of-suspected-adverse-reaction-to-COVID-19-vaccines-as-of-26-December-2021.pdf Around 320 came from those aged 12 to 17 years (FDA reports 16 deaths following vaccination who are aged 12 to 17 years). This alone should already raise the alarm for our government to suspend the vaccine rollout and conduct a more thorough study of the vaccine effects. But that would only happen if the government was truly following science.

Unfortunately for us, our health experts seem to have any idea about how underreporting factors are computed, or why they should compute it in the first place. In fact, our government continues to deny the reality that these vaccines are dangerous, particularly to the young and healthy. At present, our government has rolled out the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years, and they are also promoting a narrative that the vaccines are necessary for the resumption of face-to-face classes. The good news is that parents are pushing back, and we are now seeing a growing number of vaccinated people who are speaking against the government’s plan [as examples, see A Parent of Dengvaxia Victim Together with a Parent Who Formerly Covered Dengvaxia Case File TRO to Stop Pediatric Rollout of COVID Vaccines and Alliance of Filipinos for Freedom and Informed Choice calls for the halt in the vaccination rollout for children].

Our only hope is that parents of these young children would listen.
