In a statement to the press released last March 18, 2021, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that Floridians do not need to show proof of vaccination when attending concerts and major events.
According to DeSantis, “requiring people to provide all this proof [of vaccination], that’s not how you get society back to normal so we’re rejecting any vaccine passports here in the state of Florida”.
De Santis made this statement as the European Union announced the creation of a digital green certificate that will allow the fully vaccinated to travel freely across the bloc.
Editor’s Note: This is the kind of certainty that the world needs right now. We need leaders who can assure us that our individual liberty will be respected, regardless if there is a crisis or none.
DeSantis’ statements are important, especially since he has proven to the world that it is safe to return to normal even without vaccines, and that there is no need to coerce people into taking the vaccines [see Florida lifts all coronavirus restrictions and Florida fights back against possible federal-mandated lockdown]. Which means that all our governments refusing to lift all coronavirus restrictions are misguided. We have already suffered one year over nothing, let us not prolong the suffering by not speaking up.
