Public Health England: Past COVID-19 infection gives vaccine-like immunity for months

In this January 14, 2021 article for Forbes, Robert Hart reports on a recent study by Public Health England which discovered that those who have recovered from COVID-19 have similar levels of immunity against future infections compared to those who received a coronavirus vaccine.

According to the study, a previous COVID-19 infection provides 83% of protection against reinfection compared to people who have not had the disease before. The study also shows that this immunity lasts for at least five months, “at a level just below that offered by vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna and significantly above that of the vaccine developed by the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca.” The study also showed that reinfection is rare (only 1% of the 6,614 people who already tested positive).

Editor’s Note: This new study by Public Health England is not surprising, as it only reveals to us what virology has known for decades – that people who are infected with a virus tends to develop immunity against it, particularly when their immune systems are healthy. It is nonetheless important, as it offers proof to the proposals of the Great Barrington Declaration see [The Great Barrington Declaration: Life must return to normal for the healthy, the vulnerable must be protected]. The article also raises some very important questions: Why did the WHO change its definition of herd immunity when it can be achieved through natural immunity [see WHO deletes info on natural immunity on its website]? Why would we need a vaccine, if we can have herd immunity by naturally exposing the young and healthy to a virus that is not particularly deadly for their age group? Why are we locking up children, teens, and young adults in their own homes? Why is the government not acting based on these new researches?

While the Forbes article shows that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are “more effective” than past infection, we must realize that there is no guarantee for long term immunity with vaccines. Moreover, we must realize that both these vaccines are proven to cause adverse effects among recipients, with some experiencing debilitating “mysterious” illnesses, as well as death [see article category on Vaccines to learn more].
