Pfizer CEO: People need to take two doses of vaccine to feel confident that they are protected

In this December 9, 2020 article for Business Insider, Andrew Dunn quotes Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla saying, “…it’s a very big mistake if anyone tries to do it with only one dose, when with two, you almost double the protection”. Bourla says this after reports that a single dose of the vaccine was about 52% effective at preventing COVID-19 compared to a placebo group. The second shot, according to the company, would bring the vaccine’s effectiveness up to 95%.

Editor’s Note: Why do people need to get two doses of the vaccine when the first shot, according to the company’s studies, can already give more than 50% immunity? Do they trust their vaccines so much that they can proclaim that it can prevent COVID-19 more than 90% of the time? Or is this just a press release to increase profits for the vaccine’s shareholders?

We know that this vaccine cannot prevent infection, nor can it prevent transmission. At best, the vaccine can only relieve the symptoms of COVID-19, which according to the hopes of experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci, could lead to reduction in severe diseases [see Fauci: Early COVID-19 vaccines will only prevent symptoms, not block infectionDr. Anthony Fauci: You cannot eradicate the coronavirus, and COVID-19 vaccine trials will not tell us if it can prevent moderate or severe cases]. At worst, it can cause disease enhancement which has been a problem in earlier coronavirus vaccines [read Briefing document on Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine shows evidence of pathogenic priming among older adults]. Chance of pathogenic priming increases with second.
