Epidemiologist Tom Jefferson: A whole industry is waiting for a pandemic

The following is a 2009 interview with epidemiologist Tom Jefferson for Der Spiegel. Done at the height of the Swine Flu pandemic, interviewers Johann Grolle and Veronica Hackenbroch asks Jefferson whether he is worried about getting infected, and whether he thinks that that World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a pandemic prematurely. Jefferson talks about the interest among pharmaceutical industries driving the worsening predictions for influenza pandemics. He says, “…what happened with the bird flu, which was supposed to kill us all? Nothing. But that doesn’t stop these people from making their predictions. Sometimes you get the feeling that there is a whole industry almost waiting for a pandemic to occur”.

He adds that there is an entire machinery involved in an impending pandemic, with a lot of money, influence, and careers involved. On the declaration of the pandemic, Jefferson raises the recent change made by the WHO to the definition of what a pandemic is. He says, “The old definition was a new virus, which went around quickly, for which you didn’t have immunity, and which created a high morbidity and mortality rate. Now the last two have been dropped.”

Jefferson also says that there are cheaper alternatives to controlling the spread of the virus, and simple hand washing can prevent a variety of respiratory illnesses.

Editor’s Note: The attached article feels like it was written this year. Simply replace the words “swine flu” with “SARS-CoV-2” or “COVID-19” and it would adequately describe what is happening to us today – the fear mongering, the divide between the scientific community, the rush for immunization. Maybe the main difference is the massive censorship Big Tech has imposed on views which counter the official WHO narrative.

This interview with Jefferson reminds us that the WHO had a history of collusion with Big Pharma companies in creating a fake pandemic. For now, 10 years after the Swine Flu pandemic, the evidence shows that all of that panic was misplaced. Why then are governments accepting everything that the WHO says when time and time again they have been proven to be wrong? They kept changing their position on several important facts about the pandemic, for example, the role of asymptomatics to transmission and the importance of lockdowns, [see WHO: Asymptomatics aren’t driving the spread of the coronavirus and WHO no longer supports lockdowns].

If it were not for Big Tech companies aiding the systematic misinformation and censorship, citizens would have seen what we saw several months ago. This pandemic is a farce. We have been asked to stay inside our homes, to shutdown our businesses and livelihood, for nothing. The science is already showing that everything has been an overreaction, and as an international agency dedicated to health, the WHO must be held accountable for its “mistakes”. Moreover, as the vaccine issue unfolds, it is becoming clear that the pandemic has also become a new way for Big Pharma to earn income out of our suffering. As long as we fail to acknowledge a kind of medicine practice that looks at the human being holistically, if we refuse to acknowledge the inherent power of the human body to heal itself, the cycle of pandemics – panic – devastation will get worse.
