Iceland: Vaccines Not Enough, as Many as Possible People Need to be Infected for herd immunity

Iceland has removed all its remaining COVID restrictions, arguing that as many people as possible need to be exposed to the virus to acquire immunity. The report on this was published by Reuters last February 23, 2022.

According to the statement from the Ministry of Health, “Widespread societal resistance to COVID-19 is the main route out of the epidemic. To achieve this, as many people as possible need to be infected with the virus as the vaccines are not enough, even though they provide good protection against serious illness”.

Editor’s Note: What few people know is that Iceland has been dealing with COVID-19 quite well since 2020. As early as 2020, Iceland already knew that a large number of people who get infected with COVID do not have symptoms [see Iceland testing shows that half of coronavirus carriers have no symptoms].

From that finding, the country’s health authority formulated a COVID response that did not utilize the authoritarian policies implemented by other countries. Like Sweden, they avoided lockdowns and have kept their schools open [Read This is how Iceland is dealing with COVID-19].

Iceland was also one of the first countries to acknowledge the fact that vaccines have failed in their promise of stopping infections and transmission [See Iceland epidemiologist says herd immunity cannot be achieved by vaccines].

And unlike its neighbors, Iceland is probably the only European country that has refused to implement vaccine passports, with the country’s Chief Epidemiologist Thorolfur Gudnason saying that there was “’no basis’ for discriminating between the vaccinated and unvaccinated and that doing so could lead to ‘other problems’ and make people less accepting of coronavirus measures.1https://worldcrunch.com/coronavirus/covid-vaccine-mandate-iceland/photo-reykjavik-iceland

This new report coming from Iceland, is, therefore, no surprise as the country has been on top of science from the very beginning. What makes this article valuable is that Iceland is the first country to acknowledge that the vaccines are “not enough”, and that natural immunity is still the way out of this “pandemic”. Other countries have simply removed restrictions, crediting vaccination, or simply refused to explain their decision.

Iceland just confirmed our suspicions: Other countries are removing restrictions because they know that only natural immunity can end the “pandemic” and that they cannot acknowledge this fact after they vilified natural immunity for almost two years. Our governments are trying to avoid accountability for their missteps by simply shrugging off their mistakes. Are we going to let them get away with this?
