The Urgency of Vaccine Mandates: Are We Ignoring the Risks for Children?

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommended COVID-19 and flu vaccines for all individuals 6 months and older. Dr. Philip Krause testified that political pressure led to expedited vaccine approval, overlooking safety concerns. Side effects, including Guillain-Barre syndrome and ischemic stroke, were noted in older individuals.

Editor’s Note: The CDC’s recent recommendation to vaccinate all individuals six months and older with COVID-19 and flu vaccines raises serious concerns, especially given the documented side effects in adults. These side effects alone warrant caution and are still being unearthed, but more alarming is the push to vaccinate very young children without sufficient long-term data on the potential impacts on this age group.

This urgency to vaccinate this vulnerable population seems premature when considering that adults who have a more developed immune system are experiencing significant damaging side effects. When there are parents who are hesitant or refuse to vaccinate their children against COVID-19 — or other mandated injections — they are often quickly labeled as anti-vaxxers, a term that oversimplifies and stigmatizes legitimate concerns about vaccine safety and efficacy.
