Chinese scientists create mutant coronavirus that attacks the brain and kills 100% of test mice
Scientists in Beijing have cloned a COVID-like virus found in pangolins called GX_P2V and injected it in humanized mice. Within eight (8) days, all mice infected with the pathogen died.
The scientists also found high levels of viral load in the mice’s brain and eyes suggesting that it spreads in the body.
The research has not yet been published in a journal but it has already been criticized by various professionals. In one X post, Professor Balloux, an infectious disease expert at the University College London wrote, “It’s a terrible study, scientifically pointless. I can see nothing of vague interest that could be learned from force-infecting a weird breed of humanized mice with a random virus. Conversely, I could see how such stuff might go wrong”.
