Nevradakis says that the “campaign will spur the construction of ‘an underlying network of components’ that includes ‘digital payments, ID, and data exchange systems’ which will serve as ‘a critical accelerator of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.
Critics of the campaign have said that the digital public infrastructure (DPI) is “a mechanism for surveillance and control that combines digital ID, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), vaccine passports and carbon footprint tracking data”. It will be the completion of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and The Great Reset.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has allocated $200 million to the project. It is also supported by the G20 and the World Bank.
