PITAHC supports “tuob”
A statement released by the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC) last June 30, 2020 supported the use of tuob or steam inhalation to alleviate the respiratory illness commonly experienced by patients with mild COVID-19 symptoms.
Editor’s Note: While this statement was released more than a month ago, it has not been widely circulated in mainstream media. In fact in July, the use of steam inhalation of COVID-19 patients have been widely criticized, and the governor of Cebu received death threats for her vocal support for this healing modality. One can only wonder why such an old, and effective practice would get so much hate [to get some initial insights visit Alternative views concerning the COVID-19 vaccine and Vaccines: Trojan Horses for Global Sterilization and Surveillance].
But a more important point we wish to highlight here is that hospitals do not need to be overburdened with non-critical patients if the symptoms they experience can be managed at home or at a quarantine facility. Of course, in order do this, patients must be educated about the true nature of the disease in order to alleviate the fear inculcated by over-sensationalized reporting in mainstream media and non-communication of the government. Moreover, managing the fear of COVID-19 will require that governments monitor and utilize global experience and scientific evidence, hence avoiding politicization of an other wise health-centered concern [will governments have the courage to accept that they over reacted to the new coronavirus?
