A hot drink can soothe and comfort us when we are not feeling well, but it is unlikely to get rid of the SARS-COV-2 virus once it enters the body. In this article for BBC Future, Richard Gray reports that only temperatures higher than 56C can kill the coronavirus – temperatures hot enough to scald the human skin.
