Research shows Vitamin D is crucial for boosting immune systems
Research from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) at Trinoty College Dublin shows that Vitamin D plays a crucial role in boosting the immune system and preventing respiratory infections. Moreover, in the case of older individuals, Vitamin D regulates the release and production of pro-inflammatory molecules in the case of infection.
Editor’s Note: If Vitamin D is so important at preventing the massive release of pro-inflammatory molecules (cytokine storm) which leads to pneumonia, won’t lockdowns worsen the symptoms of COVID-19 for at-risk populations? Note that Vitamin D is a nutrient that is produced naturally by the human body through exposure to the morning sun. While supplements are already available today, naturally produced Vitamin D is still superior, as it is easily digested and absorbed.
