How your diet can help reduce the COVID-19 risk

In this article for CNN, Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, Dr. Simin Nikbin Meydani, and Dan Glickman talk about the importance of eating the right food in preventing complications from COVID-19. While there is no one diet that can ensure that we will never be infected by the coronavirus, the authors say that higher intake of the right amount of nutrients will ensure that we have a stronger immune system, allowing our bodies to fight the virus naturally. Based on research, malnourished individuals have a higher risk of getting ill, they experience longer durations of illness, and there is greater risk for death.

It is important to check on the quality of food that is being distributed: are they processed or fresh from the farm? Do they promote health, or do they actually compound the health problem?
