Fake News or Real News Putin Saves Traore from US Jets 

The video tells of a dramatic story of how Russian fighter jets forced US and French fighter jets to cease and desist with their attempts to prevent Traore from flying to Russia. It tells of a dramatic confrontation in the skies between Russian and US/French air force pilots. It then continues with the dramatic reception of Traore by Putin upon the latter’s arrival at Moscow airport.

Towards the end, it details joint plans between Russia and Burkina Faso to unite the whole continent of Africa into independent and sovereign states, free from the influence and control of colonial and imperial powers. The video painted a beautiful inspiring story but it was too good to be true.  Several parts of the narrative raised red flags. It increasingly became clear that this was a fictional account.  

First of all, the airplane that Traore rode on in actual life was a Russian plane, not one from another unspecified airline. Second, there has been no official report of an encounter between Russian and US/French pilots. Third, Putin did not greet Traore upon arrival. There were other suspicious details. But the CCH Research Team checked out the further details of the video. The YouTube uploader, “Ibrahim Traore Stories”, made a disclaimer. It stated that this video is a fictional account on partial true events.  

CCH, however, would not dismiss this site as a source of disinformation. At least, it had admitted that this was a fictional account. So, if viewers are looking for a source of inspirational fiction videos, this is one source to visit.

But the key lesson is this. Always check out the details provided by the video, whether it has its own disclaimer, or whether it is contradicted by other, more credible sources of news. Otherwise, one will end up looking naïve in a world of fake news and disinformation and, ultimately, become a living source of fiction and lies in a world starving for the Truth.
