Why is Israel Bombing Syria?

Israel launched significant airstrikes near Tartus, Syria, targeting military sites, including air defense units and missile depots, resulting in a massive explosion that registered as a 3.0 on earthquake sensors. This bombardment is reported to be the heaviest in Syria’s coastal region since 2012, raising concerns about the potential presence of large stockpiles of weapons. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the military actions aim to mitigate threats, asserting that Israel has no interest in escalating conflict with Syria. Meanwhile, the leader of the rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) indicated a reluctance to engage further in conflict due to widespread exhaustion in Syria. The situation is further complicated by Israel’s recent plans to encourage population growth in the Golan Heights, which has drawn international criticism and accusations of violating international law.

Editor’s Note: In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Jeffrey Sachs, a world-renowned economics professor, global leader in sustainable development, and a consultant of many world leaders, said, “It’s [the fall of Syria] part of a 30-year effort. This is Netanyahu’s war to remake the Middle East”.

Israel will not stop the bombings anytime soon because their ultimate goal is to break apart the Middle East and establish what is called the “Greater Israel“. To establish this Jewish state, seven countries will be broken apart: Lebanon, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Iran. Syria has just fallen and will be picked to pieces by the “victors.” HTS thinks that it will be able to govern the country, but as Israel continues to destroy Syria’s military capabilities through its continued bombings, it is only a matter of time before it turns the HTS is also driven out of the picture. To be fair, as long as Israel is able to keep HTS in check (which in this case means staying as a puppet of Israel), it might be allowed to rule the non-productive areas of Syria.

Peace will remain an elusive dream for all citizens in the Middle East. As long as Iran stands, war is inevitable.
