What happens to children’s immune systems after a year of lockdowns and social distancing?

The following article was written by Maryn McKenna and was published by Wired Magazine last April 26, 2021.

In this article, McKenna looks at another unintended consequence of lockdowns, social distancing, and obsessive disinfection – the disappearing microbiota.

The implementation of these health protocols has prevented children from encountering pathogens that could have trained their immune systems. This loss of contact can lead to unintended consequences which will only become apparent after a few years. He says, “It is accepted doctrine in immunology that exposure to routine infections and common microbes early in life helps our immune systems learn what they should target and what they should leave alone. Failure to get those exposures at the right time leaves the immune system overreacting to every minor insult”.

Experts say that the long-term effects of the past year could lead to an increase in allergies and related diseases such as eczema and asthma, particularly among those who were still babies and toddlers during the beginning of the pandemic. B. Brett Finlay, a microbiologist, and professor at the University of British Columbia says, “My guess is five years from now we are going to see a bolus of kids with asthma and obesity who were the Covid kids”. One can also expect the resurgence of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) cases which can be serious among infants and older adults.

Editor’s Note: Again we need to ask: is the trade-off for lockdowns and school closures worth it? This article has just shown us that we not only compromised the learning of our children, we have also compromised their capacity to grow up healthy. Can we imagine what happens to a society when this whole generation of sickly, traumatized children grow up to become adults?

Do lockdown proponents and pro-vax groups realize what this means for the future? How wonderful it is for Big Pharma to no longer have to worry about the longevity of their business. They now have hundreds of thousands of vaccine-injured adults around the world and a whole generation of children who will become dependent on their product.
